Our responsibility -
It is our responsibility as childminders to ensure that children are kept safe and free from harm, abuse and neglect.
How we keep children safe - Everyone that works with your child will have the necessary training and understanding to ensure that all policies and procedure are followed.
Policies - Our policies can be found on our policies and procedures page. We encourage you to read them and make contact if you have any questions. We always welcome you to come and have a chat with us if you have any concerns about your child, yourself or anyone else. We follow a strict privacy policy and ensure all information is handled with the upmost care and confidentiality.
Consent - It is important that from a young age children are taught about consent. We help children to understand that they can say no to physical contact and that they should also ask their friends before giving them a hug. Continuing to be positive and accepting if the answer is no. With the youngest children in our care we talk to them while we carry out personal care, explaining what we are doing. For older children we help them to understand the importance of respecting other peoples wishes as well as their own.
We use books and other resources to help children understand what consent means to them. If you have any questions regarding our methods of teaching this topic please do not hesitate to contact us.
